Department Introduction

Ward 6 (Orthopaedic Joint Department) is a featured department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Luohe Medical College, as well as a provincially key clinical department under cultivation. It is equipped with advanced Smith & Nephew arthroscopic equipment imported from the United States.The department has a team of 6 senior title holders, 10 intermediate title holders and 13 nursing staff, with 38 beds available including VIP wards to meet the needs of different patients.Focusing on the treatment of joint osteopathy and joint sports injuries, the department specializes in arthroscopic surgery and artificial joint replacement for various joint osteopathies and sports-related joint injuries.

The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of joint diseases and sports injuries. It excels in the following procedures: arthroscopic treatment of meniscus injuries; arthroscopic treatment of osteoarthritis; total knee arthroplasty; total hip arthroplasty; revision surgery after artificial joint replacement; arthroscopic-assisted high tibial osteotomy for medial compartment knee osteoarthritis; arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments for their injuries; simultaneous arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior/posterior cruciate ligaments and posterolateral complex injuries; arthroscopic reconstruction of the patellofemoral ligament for recurrent patellar dislocation; as well as arthroscopic treatment of frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries and shoulder dislocation. It has also accumulated extensive experience in arthroscopic management of elbow, hip and ankle joint disorders. In addition, the department has established a comprehensive and distinctive system for postoperative nursing and rehabilitation training.Chief Physician Li Fubin, the director of the department, received further training at the Joint Disease Research Center of Peking University People's Hospital. He participated in the Artificial Joint Replacement Training Course at Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong in 2009, and the Artificial Joint Replacement Workshop at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan in 2011. Since taking the lead in launching arthroscopic surgery in the southern Henan region in 1998, he has performed over 6,000 arthroscopic surgeries and more than 1,500 artificial joint replacement surgeries to date.
